![]() She is essentially tainted by her strong association with the Alliance, and as such, unfit to serve as a leader within the Horde because her interests would conflict (and some outright accuse her of being an Alliance spy or saboteur). From the Horde partisan standpoint, there's a sense that Calia has been too involved with marquee Alliance NPCs such as Anduin and Jaina. The first is that Calia isn't identifiably Forsaken in the same way other marquee Forsaken NPCs are - she lacks visible decay, doesn't have a matching temperament/personality, and lacks a shared context with them having never been an unwilling slave and/or victim of the Scourge. Whats wrong about Calia really?Generally speaking, two issues stand as black marks against Calia from a Forsaken and a Horde partisan standpoint. Nobody will be Sylvanas so there's not really a good replacement that all of them will even agree on.Īnd to this i am very upset about, i really dont know why the player base rejected that character so hard that we came to the point of having Lilian Voss being such opportunistic figure now. Yes, it's a fucking stupid and childish argument and always has been. In short: Calia is not Sylvanas so therefore she's bad. Even though your argument about why Calia fits better than Lilian Voss makes absolutely no sense and you're breaking your own rules. They hate her because, like Baine, she isn't a warmonger and is open to and willing to have diplomatic relationships with characters on the Alliance. It was a clear continuation of her arc that had started in Cataclysm and went in a realistic direction.Īlso you're never going to sell Calia to the Horde purists/fanatics even though she's just as much of an outlier compared to the rest of the Forsaken as Sylvanas was. Out of all the shitpiles of BfA's plot elements, Lilian Voss' was fine. And stuck around because she had built camaraderie with the Forsaken as well as wanting to keep her promise to Zelling to keep his family safe after Sylvanas executed him for helping Baine free Derek.Īlso recounting her own backstory, she felt guilt over not doing anything about Derek being forcefully resurrected and compared it to her own origin as a Forsaken and thus wanted atonement. And even though its clear originally she didn't really want to, her experiences during BfA, specifically about helping Amalia Stone and Thomas Zelling adjust to their lives as Forsaken, softened her on the idea of never wanting to be part of the Forsaken.Īnd then increasingly realized, before most of the other Horde, that Sylvanas never cared about the Forsaken or the Horde and was using them. She literally states Sylvanas sought her out and asked her to join. ![]() because its a natural progression of her character arc? Where she started out hating herself for even being Forsaken and then slowly progressed into accepting herself and now helping lead new Forsaken along the path that she didn't have anybody there to help her with.Īlso she didn't weasel her way into the Forsaken as you're implying here. PS : Before anyone here call me a "Voss hater" i must say that i liked the character in Cata/mop/wod/legion when she was on her own like an actual rogue like Valeera but seeing her since sl talking in the name of the forsaken and taking up the spot from Calia in the forsaken heritage armor makes me annoyed. To me the actual person that should be the member of the horde council should be the one having the best relations with the alliance : Calia Menethil. ![]() To me she dont even belong on the desolate council and even less so on the Horde council and i dont understand why it comes up to nobody that she is some kind of opporunist since bfa, its as if Valeera Sanguinaar was deciding the politic of the blood elves. To me i feel like this character is being way too much pushed into the spotlight while she was supposed to be on her own and as she states herself "living her life in the shadows" while you had other npcs like Belmont or Velonara who were actually leading the forsaken and having much higher ranks in them than Voss. ![]() I just want to ask, why is Lilian Voss the representative of the Forsaken faction while she was not even part of that faction up until like end of bfa out of nowhere when she claimed her loyalty was lying in the forsaken after having left them during around 5 expacs? (Cata, mop, wod, legion, big part of bfa when she is just a mercenary like garona.)
